My Dad was watching the morning news from their bedroom television watching the planes hit the towers.
He called out across the hall to my bedroom where I was getting up. I sat down watching the events unfold before me, not knowing then how the events of 9/11 would forever change my life, all our lives.
I went by to our 9/11 memorial and also paid respects to our fallen from the recent attacks at Kabul Airport and of other conflicts and wars.
I’m humbled reading some of the names of those we’ve lost among these memorials.
To the families of those who lost a loved one 20 years ago due to the attacks, and the families of the men and women who answered the call to defend our nation, we honor your sacrifice.
I will always remember. They are never forgotten.
